Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Budget Friendly Ways to Revamp Bathroom in 2019

I am not expert when it comes to renovating bathrooms but the tips listed below are those we’ve tried and tested. There are certain jobs in the house which require professionals to manage and we often look to hire accredited professionals. We recently needed *central heating plumbers and we were able to find professionals location who fixed the heating before the holidays. In this article find listed below 9 budget friendly ways to Revamp Bathroom in 2019.

Change the Walls

Unlike our family bathroom where the walls are tiled, you can easily change up the walls. We suggest replacing the current paint and replacing with paints made to shrug off moisture which is very important in bathrooms.

Accessorise the bathroom

Like any other room, the bathroom can always do with some accessories. We often add a nice mirror to the wall or change the shower curtains and even the bathroom taps. Another accesory to add to the bathroom is fresh towels, how often do you replace the towels in your bathroom?

Add Storage

Not all bathrooms are spacious but one can play tricks with bathroom storage. Often we suggest adding storage under the sink or attach a cabinet above or near the sink. Whatever material is chosen, it again has to be able to shrug off moisture and is long lasting.

Update Lighting

For this, you might need to hire a professional if wiring will need to be done but a different bulb can do the trick. These days there are a gazillion options on lighting to suit the mood of the room.

Refresh the floor

We’ve often talked about various flooring types and which are suitable for which rooms. The bathroom is one room where refreshing the floor is extremely important. Moisture can get trapped in the floor causing damage and not forgetting the odour wet floors emit.

Get scrubbing

If replacing the walls or floor tiles is not an option then get scrubbing to give them another lease of life. There various eco-friendly products on the market that can be used to give the tiles a new look on life.

Create a spa-like bathroom

Everyone loves spending time at the spa and receiving various treatments. Whilst no professional massause will be in the bathroom with you, you can add some spa element. Adding some bath salts, nicely scented candles and various aromas can give your bathroom a nice spa-like feeling.

Replace the blinds

We have blinds in our bathroom that can do with being replaced. Unless your bathroom window doesn’t need coverings, its Probably time to replace those blinds. Sometimes a good clean can give them a new lease of life.

The simplest way to bring nature into your bathroom is to add a house plant that can thrive in a moist environment. This is such a simple way to bring the outdoors indoors, simply adding a plant does wonders.

We live in a big house with a stupid small basic main bathroom. It’s really not good. We’re trying to save to get it redesigned and made to look a little more luxurious!

Absolutely gorgeous ideas. Our bathroom is SO outdated. We rent, too so we aren’t a position to revamp it. But that doesn’t stop me dreaming of a footed bathtub, waterfall taps and bluetooth music mirrors, lol!
