Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{Monthly Roundup} October 2017 Fashion Favourites

October 2017 Fashion Favourites, a monthly roundup of all the outfit ideas I have shared throughout October. This roundup is the tenth installment for 2017 but the 24th installment since the series started, December 2015. Regular readers of A July Dreamer know how much I love sharing outfit ideas. I am a true believer in the statement that ‘Fashion fits all‘, find your style and work it. Don’t compare how an outfit looks on someone, embrace the difference and uniqueness of you.

October 2017 Fashion Favourites

When I thought September was a varied month, I had no idea just how true that would be for October. The entire month has been very busy and so varied but we like it like that around here. I have rarely shared any women’s fashion ideas this month. It seems the men in my life are taking over the blog with our recent collaborations.

At the beginning of the month, I had many plans to share more outfit ideas with me in them. I shared the skinny ankle grazers I picked up from New Look which were a hit. Those who know me know how much I love my skinny jeans, I live in them. They are my go to pieces for a weekend getaway, running errands and even girls nights out. You can never go wrong with pairing your ankle grazers with blocked heels and leather jacket.

topshop wishlist

Sticking to form, styling pink in autumn was the next outfit ideas I shared for my female friends. I am not much of a pink, to be honest I have 3 items of clothing which are pink. It is not a colour I have often gravitated towards but this autumn I have. Such a simple and cheerful colour when styled right and if not too bright either.

Towards the end of the month I have been putting together wishlists, most notably Topshop wishlist. Though the original idea was putting together items I am hoping to get my sister. That changed to items I would also love to get my hands on too. I also decided to put together a Boohoo wishlist with the items I am loving so far.

October 2017 Fashion ~ Men’s Fashion

Early on in October we got approached to collaborate with The Idle Man on Men’s Fashion. The Idle men in my life were pretty chuffed and we got to pick a couple of items for each. It has been pretty difficult in the past to find companies that catered to men’s fashion. I shared in the Boohooman how we were happy to see them doing XXXL range. The Idle Man has given us another option for the men in my life to buy affordable styling clothing. It has been great styling up the men in my life and keeping them warm thanks to The Idle Man.

topman wishlist

As we start to prepare for Christmas I have been creating different wishlists in the background. For my brother as a millennial I put together this Topman wishlist which he loves. His not the easiest to buy for but not the hardest either, his just in the middle.

We then had a collaborative piece on men’s fashion shared on dressing to impress. I am sure every woman knows her favourite colour on a man, some are not bothered by it. Whilst that might be the case I know that bright crazy colours like yellow don’t suit my dad. Whilst black, white and navy blue works wonders on him, same for my brother who rocks most colours.

October has been a great month and I am excited to see what November has in store for us. What was your favourite outfit we shared.

What an awesome list! I am totally loving the ripped jeans. I have SOOO many pairs of them from AE (since they are the only ones that fit in the length ie short) and they are incredibly comfortable!
