Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨

{Fashion Monday} December 2016 Fashion Favourites

December 2016 Fashion Favourites is a monthly roundup of all the Fashion outfit ideas and posts I shared in December. I must confess I am still in shock of the whirlwind that was 2016, at least for me it felt like that. One moment I am entering the year with so many plans and the next I am sat contemplating about the year. I will not complain as 2016 was an awesome year for me in all aspects of my life, even the bad things were also awesome. You only know how strong and capable you’re after passing through the tough times and smelling like roses.

December 2016 Fashion Favourites

As it is always with the Fashion Favourites roundups, I share the outfits I put together and tried. Unlike most months December 2016 Fashion Favourites featured more than four outfits. I share my outfit ideas on Mondays hence Fashion Monday, 4 Mondays a month equals 4 outfit ideas. December was the exception as I shared 5 Fashion Monday Posts. So without wasting much time, let’s look at what is included in December 2016 Fashion Favourites.

December 2016 Fashion Favourites

For the first Monday in December I shared two outfits which had a winter theme to them as we were entering winter Season. I shared Winter Holiday Fashion Essentials and Winter Fashion Basics, both these outfits where a hit with y’all. Sharing outfit ideas on the blog makes me really happy and even more happy when I get feedback from my readers. I have found sharing outfit ideas that people can relate to or try is better than unrealistic outfits which are just for the photos.

Winter Holiday Fashion Essentials

For the fourth Monday in December, I shared A hint of pink to showcase my new handbag from NewChic. Pink is not a colour that I normally gravitate towards so when I wear it’s usually in small quantity. This bag became the exception as it was definitely eye-popping and catchy. I have had so many nice comments about it and people asking where to grab one.

December 2016 Fashion Favourites ~ Christmas ideas

For the second Monday I featured Sparkle into Christmas as we were getting close to Christmas. Though this year I shared ideas, I didn’t dress up which I had mentioned already on the blog. Though I wasn’t feeling the sparkles that wasn’t going to stop me from sharing an outfit idea. Many of you were able to fit into one of the Five categories I had described in the post. I fit in all of them but it also depends very much on the mood and occasion.

sparkle into christmas

Stay warm and Stylish this Christmas was the featured outfit idea for the third Monday in December. I had mentioned that I rarely dress in ugly Christmas jumpers so I found a cuter version and styled that. Regular readers also know I am all about comfort before style, once comfort is nailed style can follow. I believe if you’re comfortable in your outfit the stylish of it radiates off from within. You don’t have to be runaway level, you just need to be happy in yourself.

Stay warm and stylish this christmas

December 2016 Fashion Favourites ~ Others

Whilst Fashion Monday is dedicated to sharing Fashion posts, sometimes I share throughout the week. During December I put together other outfit ideas but mostly to feature the brands I had been working with.

butterfly twistsRecently featured Butterfly Twists and Brantano footwear and shared how I dress the shoes from these brands. Butterfly Twists was the first shoe brand I worked with in 2016 that sent me shoes to review on the blog. Brantano footwear is another brand who sent me shoes to review on the blog and collaborated three times in 2016. House of Fraser is the biggest and most frequent brand I have collaborated with in 2016 and was happy to recap the collaborations.

2016 was a great year for collaborations, travel and personal growth and development. I am excited to see what 2017 will look like.

Of the December 2016 Fashion Favourites ideas I shared, which was your favourite and why?
