Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Sponsor Roundup · February 28, 2018

{Monthly Roundup} February 2018 Sponsors

From a very young age my parents always taught me the importance of showing appreciation without expecting anything back. The February 2018 Sponsors post is my way of showing my utmost appreciation to the A July Dreamer without expecting anything in return. It doesn’t cost me a thing to say thank you February 2018 Sponsors but gives me a sense of happiness. All A July Collaborators mean the world to be whether big or small I still feel humbled you chose to work with me.

The February 2018 Sponsors roundup is the Second appreciation post of the year showcasing my Sponsors. Obviously I am thankful to all sponsors but each much I pay special attention to the ones I recently collaborated with. I also know that I wouldn’t be where I am right now without the support of my family, friends, bloggers and other readers. Thank you everyone for supporting the brands that support me, I always try to only share brands I believe in.

January 2018 Sponsors

Thank you February 2018 Sponsors

I started writing these dedication posts back in November 2014, just over a year after I started blogging and collaborating. It was a big deal for me to have a brand or PR want to work with me; a tiny blob in the blogosphere. Since then I vowed to always show my gratitude to all sponsors big or small and give them an extra shoutout.

The roundup post is not only for the sponsors but also my incredible readers who might have missed a post. Regular readers know I collaborate with all types of brands but most; Travel, Fashion, Beauty and Lifestyle. I always aim to ensure the brands I work with fall into at least one of those categories and match my theme. With that being said, here is a roundup of the February 2018 Sponsors.

Casale Amati - La Marchesa

Travel Collaborations

We just returned from Italy earlier this week and we had such an amazing time staying at Casale Amati. It is a family run holiday rental country house property with three properties under one roof and we utilised two of them. I shared our thoughts on the first house; La Marchesa which is such an incredible house with an impressive living room space and a 14 century old dinning table. We had an incredible opportunity to review the holiday rental and we couldn’t recommend it enough.

Take Twelve Trips

Traveling can be quite expensive and though this blog supports my adventurous lifestyle sometimes one needs support. Lendgreen Online Loans is definitely an option and not just for holidays but for essential lifestyle needs. But again I don’t advocate going into debt for a trip but for necessities like buying a new car to move from a to b. Then again I don’t know your life situation so maybe getting a loan to go on a life changing trip is exactly what you need.

Speaking of life changing trip, maybe a slow holiday by Inntravelis exactly what the doctor ordered. I had an incredible opportunity to attend the Travel Destinations show in London and attended a photography master class. It was such a new experience for me attending a class and also the travel show I know I want to return. I also realised all my vacations are fast paced and it would be nice to call on Inntravel for their expertise to organise a slow holiday.

Lifestyle Collaborations

One thing I love about blogging is having an opportunity to collaborate with a brand repeatedly. I am someone who cherishes relationships and have an open door policy when it comes to collaborations on the blog. There are brands that I totally love and even when not working with them I do check them out and pick some items. An example of such a brand is Uncommongoodswhom I collaborated with previously and was excited to collaborate with again.

February being the month of love I opted to pick some items I was loving and would make nice Valentine’s Day presents. I was recently invited to the re-opening of my local Jessopsstore in Sainsbury’s and we had such fun. I have always thought Jessops was only a camera store but nope, they have incredible features like printing pictures. What impressed me the most was the amazing canvas I got done and the personalisation of products. Everyone knows I am a sucker for personalising items that I can gift to my family and friends and even to myself.

how has life changed in past 100 years

Recently I had an opportunity to work with SunLife, UK residents will know the ad with Parky on life insurance. When they asked me to review the new tool on what has changed in the last 100 years I was dumbfounded. It’s crazy to think I had a life before the internet and now can’t imagine life with it. I remember my first mobile and how much has changed since then, technological advances. So much has changed in my 30 years I wonder what the next 30 (God willing) will look like.

Fashion Collaborations

I am no fashionista in any shape or form but I do love Fashion, creating outfit ideas and sharing them. When LOTD.com gave me a budget I knew exactly what I was going to get. It is a brand I didn’t know about but glad it’s a British brand. They are based in Manchester have incredible items offering attractive prices and stylish. I do love the variety of items sold, they made me love pink again and that’s a big win.

JORD Wooden Watch

As luck would have it I finally got an opportunity to get my very own JORDwooden watch. I remember when they first became popular and famous bloggers started showcasing them. To be honest I was a little jealous but I fell in love and wanted one too. We got a similar wooden watch which we honestly love but it still wasn’t JORD. Finally my chance came and now I have one and I love it. JORD watch has become an essential piece of my daily outfits to work or errand running.

Speaking of watches, my mum has been doing the same since I got a personalized watch for her. The lovely people at Gifts Online 4 U sent us a lovely piece engraved women’s watch. I chose a simple item but carries so much love and thought with it. When Galentine’s Day came along, I made sure to gift his to my mother.

Content Contribution Collaborations

On A July Dreamer we accept sponsored content contribution which matches the theme of the blog. When a client reached out to share Handy tips for stronger nails I just say I jumped at the opportunity. Why? Well, I had my nails done beginning of December using gel nail polish and hadn’t gone back yet. Looking at my nails which were growing through they looks absolutely battered and I needed to change that. Before I could go search for handy tips content came my way, read it.

Another content piece I shared was addressing how dressing against the norm can say about you. Regular readers know on A July Dreamer we are great believers that Fashion Fits All, pushing through the boundaries. Fashion is expressive but certainly doesn’t define who you are inside but can aid in that definition. This piece of content was such a great read and those who didn’t catch it, definitely have a read.

To conclude the February 2018 Sponsors gratitude post, I wanted to express my deepest thanks for all the collaborations. I am excited to see what March 2018 has in store for A July Dreamer.

What a lovely idea for a post, you’re right, it’s so nice to be able to give something back without expecting anything in return. LOTD have some amazing stuff, I really love their clothes and accessories- unfortunately they’re a bit out of my league at the moment because I’m 20 weeks pregnant…! Before baby number two though, I did buy a few bits from them and have also worked with them in the past.

This is a lovely reminder to be grateful every day. I live in a city where people are constantly moaning about nothing (Toronto). And if I’m honest I live in the lap of luxury. To be in state of gratitude is to love 🙂
