After the success of our 2019 Travel Bucketlist recap, I thought I share the Top 15 travel posts of 2019. Every single year, I make a point of writing down goals of places and of things I want to explore or do and this year is no different. Last week, I shared our 2020 Lifestyle and Travel Goals which I am excited to have booked half the trips already. This time last year when I was planning our 2019 travel, I was curious as to which travel content will be useful.
Whenever I share travel content, I want it to be something that will be useful to either a newbie traveller or a seasoned pro. In order to know which content is loved, the top 15 travel posts of 2019 roundup is a good start. I am always surprised by which content is liked and which is least favourite especially when I consider the trips themselves. Regardless, I love knowing what travel content has been useful and what content I should tailor differently.

Disclaimer: It is probably essential for me to point out that the top 15 are not restricted to just posts written in 2019 but rather posts most loved in 2019.
Top 15 Travel Posts of 2019
Over the last 5 years, I have found my absolute love for travelling and exploring places near and far. There is something about driving to the airport, getting on the plane and getting off into the sunset. But there is also something equally appealing about driving off somewhere not too far from home and discovering local gems. Whatever type of travel you do, find the good in it and enjoy the experience.
Looking through the top 15 travel posts of 2019, I am glad to see that there is travel content that I shared in 2019 that has made the list. The majority of the favourite travel content from 2019 wasn’t actually written in 2019 but somehow picked up extra visits from our readers. It is always nice to look at the blog stats and seeing old content still bring views to the blog. With that being said, here are some of your top 15 travel posts of 2019.

20 Best Winter Destinations in Europe
When I shared the best winter destinations, I was thinking about all the places I wanted to explore that winter. Most people don’t like travelling during winter especially if like me they don’t like or know how to stake. People think during winter, the best kind of trip you can do is a ski vacation but I disagree, I recommend winter city tours too. I shared a list of my favourite 20 winter destinations you can explore in Europe.
Winter in Luxembourg
Luxembourg is somewhere I have always wanted to go and when the opportunity presented itself I knew I had to take it. I flew into Frankfurt then took a bus to Luxembourg, this was one of the best travel experiences I had ever had and I recommend it. There are direct flights from London to Luxembourg but flying into Frankfurt is much cheaper than directly into Luxembourg.

Explore Faro Portugal
When I visited Faro back in December 2018, I couldn’t wait to share all the wonderful content I had in mind. It was nice seeing this post feature as one of the top 15 most viewed posts in 2019. Faro is an incredible place, I visited in December but the weather was absolutely glorious and felt more summer than winter.
Top 5 Must-See Places in Brno
Brno is the second-largest city in the Czech Republic but is often overlooked for Prague and other neighbouring cities like Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava. I visited this city back in 2016, shared content on the top 5 must-see places in the city and to this day, this post brings views every day. It is one of the most viewed posts on my site so much that I had to give it a little revamp.

Things to do in Los Angeles
I am glad to see that LA made it onto the top 15 travel posts of 2019, it was one of the best trips of the year. A few of us flew to the city spent time there exploring anything and everything and the highlight was hiking up to the Hollywood sign. Our visit was during May and the weather was absolutely perfect, we had the best time ever.
Five Reasons To Visit Qatar
Though this post was shared a few years ago, it continues to bring in views to the blog, I loved visiting in June and it was the best thing ever. Our visit coincided with the start of Ramadan so it was super quiet but allowed us the opportunity to appreciate the cities beauty. I would highly recommend a visit to Qatar but recommend you read up on the country before visiting.

Sopot Poland
Visiting Sopot back in 2018 was a last-minute decision, I had no intention of leaving Gdansk until I learned of Sopot, a city side city small but considered the Polish riviera. I visited in December when it was super cold but I could see the charm of the city and can understand why the city of flocked by tourists and locals during the warmer months as its absolutely gorgeous.
National Trust Properties in Oxfordshire
As a frequent traveller, there is nothing I love more than inspiring fellow travellers to see the world but also look at their own back yard. In the UK we have some of the most beautiful destinations that people travel from all over the world to see and it would be a shame if we the locals did not enjoy them too. Living in Oxfordshire, I made it my business to explore all the national heritage properties we have in this county. A lot of people loved this and its one of the most viewed posts ever on the blog.

48 Hours in Aalborg, Denmark
Aalborg is a city in northern Denmark which I visited back in 2018 and absolutely fell in love with and would love to live there one day. I found the city to be super laid back and I had hoped my post conveyed that feeling, its beautiful and slow-paced. I am glad it made the cut for top 15 travel posts of 2019 as it’s still bringing in views.
Bucketlist Destination| Phuket
Visiting Thailand was one of the highlights of 2019, we decided to visit Thailand because we wanted to escape the cold in the northern hemisphere. It was the best decision by far and would highly recommend visiting this incredible country and specifically visit Phuket.

Bucketlist Deatination| Best Beaches in Krabi
During our visit to Thailand, we made a stop visit to Krabi and spent 5 glorious days there soaking in the sun and enjoying the views. Even though I can not swim, I was able to enjoy snorkelling and had the best people around to support me as I swam around. I shared the post of best beaches in Krabi that we managed to explore and can highly recommend them.
Larnaca Expectations vs Reality
I am super surprised that this post continues to be viewed year on year for the last 4 years and I can not for the life of me tell why. I guess because I was completely honest about our experience when we visited Cyprus, it is a beautiful but some things are overrated and I shared our thoughts on Larnaca, compare expectations versus reality.

Things to do in Mainz
Mainz is another city that I had no intention of visiting but I had time to kill during my visit to Frankfurt many moons ago and glad I went. The city doesn’t look that big but it is and still quint at the same time. I visited in December a few years ago and I got to dig into the Christmas market and bought all my favourite German foods, best trip ever.
Jersey – Perfect 2-day itinerary
To celebrate my 32nd birthday I chose to treat myself to a nice little getaway to Jersey where the weather was perfect and the people friendly. I hired a car and managed to explore almost the entire island with the highlight was going on a wine tour, the best thing I have ever done. I planed my perfect 2-day itinerary in Jersey meticulously but wanted to leave room to just lie on the beach which I did.

48 Hours in Toulouse
Whenever we talk about Toulouse in my home we all have a good laugh and think of the wonderful time we had. Toulouse was the first destination that I took my parents in back in 2018 and it has been our most favourite memory ever since, we always reminisce about the wonders of travelling as a family.

You have done a lot of traveling in 2019 and wrote some great posts about it. I do love Jersey and I hope to get back there this year, do a hike around the entire island. I’d also like to go to Poland again and explore more of the off the beaten path cities.
